Ozhosted.Com : FAQ

Our support does not cover CGI script debugging.
We consider this a function of web design and we do not offer any
in-house web development or consulting services.

  1. If I buy hosting and don't like it, do I get my money back ?
Yes. We offer a 30 day Money Back Guarantee.

  2. In our Control Panels, can we setup email addresses, sub-domains, auto-responders and other items ?
Yes, the Control Panel is one of the very best in the industry. You can manage all aspects of your hosting from setting up email addresses to configuring your MySQL databases. It's set out in a friendly manner and it's easy to understand and use.

  3. Can I see how much disk space and Data Transfer my domain name is utilising ?
Yes. That information is available in Control Panel for each domain name.

  4. Can I buy Plan OZ250 and latter upgrade to Plan OZ500 ?
Yes, certainly. We will simply require you to complete a new form and your account will seamlessly be upgraded with NO interruption to your current hosting.

  5. Can I use FrontPage 2000/2002/2003 with your servers ?
Yes, we support FrontPage 98/2000/2002/2003 with the very latest FrontPage Server Extensions.

  6. Do you provide a dedicated IP address with each domain name ?
The domains are name-based accounts and do not come with a dedicated IP address. If you need a dedicated IP addresses for your domain, then you will need to purchase one.
Dedicated IPs are available for an additional $1.00 monthly fee.

  7. Do I need a dedicated IP address for my domain name ?
No, unless it is your intention to purchase your own SSL certificate.

Ozhosted.com is hosted as a name based account.
    .

  8. How can I upgrade or downgrade my account ?
If you are currently on PLAN OZ250 and you would like to upgrade your account to Plan OZ500, then place a request to upgrade through the Support Page. We will then upgrade your account to Plan OZ500. You will be billed the Plan OZ500 amount when the invoices are emailed out at the 1st of the month.

  9. Why don't you provide telephone support through a call centre?
Call centres are extremely expensive to operate and would force our prices up significantly. We provide hosting solutions to clients from many different countries and telephone support does not efficiently function across that platform whereas web based support does. We find that we can be more specific with web based support compared to verbal support via the phone. Web based support also documents our responses so you can revisit them at a later date rather than trying to make your own notes from a telephone conversation.

  10. How can I cancel my account?
Submit that request through the Support Page and request that your account be cancelled. We will need your account username and password, as verification of your cancellation request. Please supply that information in your Cancellation request.

Ozhosted.com Knowledge Base
Important: One of the biggest misconceptions is that you have to run UNIX on your own computer in order for you to host your site on UNIX platform. That is not true. Which operating system you run on your computer is irrelevant in making your decision. This means that if you are running Windows® 98 or Windows® XP on your computer, you may still choose UNIX as your webhosting platform.

Unix servers are known for their reliability. They are so stable they are considered crash proof. UNIX servers are capable of hosting thousands of web sites on a single server. While Windows servers may slow down under heavy load, UNIX servers run without a problem. In many cases UNIX servers run for years without having to be touched. This is why ISPs tend to use UNIX servers for web hosting. The Internet was built on UNIX servers. UNIX servers have been around longer than the Personal Computer. Other hosting platforms are new compared to UNIX. Over the years UNIX has been refined to the point where it is bulletproof.

Other questions relating to your account are answered at our Knowledge Base. The Knowledge Base answers questions regarding certian aspects of your hosting account.
